Can I help you ?

    If you represent a non-profit shelter or rescue organization, etc, or if you are one of those special people who take critters into their own homes, or helps them in other ways, and if you would like your efforts to be helped by being on the Internet, that is what this site is all about.  I want to help you.

Why do I do this ?

    This is one of the ways I make my personal effort to help critters.  I have wanted to do this for years, and finally  got it going in late February of  2001.  A website dedicated to giving free help to those people who give so much.

What's the catch ?

    There is no catch.  All web design and web hosting here is free, gratis, no charge. At no time will I profit personally in any way from this site ( except of course the satisfaction I will get from helping critters ).  Any profit-generating items or pages that ever appear on this site ( if any ever do ) will be solely and 100 % for the purpose of generating money to donate to animal charities.   If you avail yourself of this free site now, and want to move later, I will assist in any way possible, including helping you move all of your files, etc.  This website is a charity effort on my part, not a business endeavor.

What can I do for you ?

• Free web site design ( or I will gladly host your design, or work with your designers at any time )
• Free web site hosting - you will be linked from my main site, and also be reachable directly in the form of    http://helpthecritters.com/happydaysshelter , with your chosen site name being the last part of the address. 
• Free scanning of critter pictures for your site - you send 'em, I scan 'em, and put them online on your site, with your text description for each one.

What can you put on this site ?

    Anything related to helping you help critters.  Contact info, pleas for donations or adoptions, pictures, stories, humor ( kind  humor only, nothing about hurting critters is allowed ), etc.

Where is this site hosted ?

    At this time, I am hosted by Yahoo.  This is very different from the ' free web sites' they offer through GeoCities, etc.  I pay for this one, and I registered the domain name HelpTheCritters.com.  This means there are no banner ads from Yahoo, etc.  In addition to the 100 meg of disk space I have online at Yahoo, I have my own personal web server here at home that is 'a real web server' online 24 / 7, where I have another 2 gig of disk set aside to hold the graphics for HelpTheCritters.  The linking between the two computers is invisible to you and the viewers.  I can add more disk as needed at any time.
